Fruity Pebble Friday

Every Friday at our house we have "Fruity Pebble Friday".  It all started with Brandon's love of Fruity Pebbles.  He never wanted them all the time or anything, but when the mood hit, he liked to have them available.  Well, the fruity, crunchy, yumminess was too much of a temptation for a 3 year-old who normally had oatmeal or eggs for breakfast.  Rather than fight the battle each day, we started "Fruity Pebble Friday".  Every Friday, Hope could have Fruity Pebbles for breakfast.

Fruity Pebble Friday is still alive and well in our house, but has really morphed into Sugar Cereal Friday though the name hasn't changed.  After all, one can eat Fruity Pebbles only so many Fridays in a row.  Once we have run out of one box, Hope decides which kind she would like next.  It usually rotates through Fruity Pebbles, Lucky Charms, Cookie Crisp, and an occasional box of Froot Loops or Apple Jacks.

Now that EJ is two, she apparently feels that she should partake in Fruity Pebble Friday as well.  This morning, as Hope was eating her Lucky Charms:

EJ: I ont ucky choms too, Mama.
Me: You have a biscuit and eggs, EJ.
Hope: Mom, if she actually knows the name of the cereal, you should probably give her some.
Me: Okay, EJ, I'll get you some lucky charms.

I got her plate and put a small handful on, took out all the marshmallows and gave the plate back to her.

EJ: I ont ucky choms ike Hopie.

Hope took some of the marshmallows out of her bowl and put them on EJ's plate.

EJ: I ONT MY OWN UCKY CHOMS . . . . . peez.

She got another little handful, charms and all.  She ate all the marshmallows and left the actual 'cereal' sitting on her plate.

Fruity Pebble Friday is now inclusive of the whole family!

Love the idea of sugar cereal day. We never had that growing up and I always had to eat boring Cheerios. We may need to copy this idea in the future! Can't believe how big the girls are! Happy belated B-day to Ellis!
