Happy Birthday!!

This is, officially, my 29th post, on April 29th, Brandon's 29th birthday . . . okay, he may be a little older than 29, but he doesn't look it!!

I think Brandon had a good birthday - started off with his favorite breakfast of biscuits and gravy. Followed by a statistics test. Then he got to go pick up his birthday present - a new bike! Although we couldn't figure out how to adjust the seat, and in trying to do so, broke the rear brakes. We had a yummy Sonic dinner, complete with an Ocean Water. Delicious, even though he really asked for an Ocean Water slushie. Mom, Jill, and the boys came over after dinner for a fabulous chocolate cake! And now he's downstairs preparing for a class presentation he has tomorrow.

Sisters

It's been well over a year since Ellis was born, but Hope still remembers the day well. Here's a book she wrote at school . . .

I'll have to save this to show Hope when she's older and Ellis is driving her crazy. I'll stash it away with the note she wrote, promising me she'll babysit when she's 14!

Which Came First . . .

. . . the baseball team or the mountain range?

This morning at breakfast as we were talking about how the Rockies blew a 3-0 lead last night, Hope says:

"Well, I bet the club they were playing against didn't have any mountains named after them. Even if they lost they still have that one good thing."

I love how she called it a "club". This girl knows her baseball. :)

Easter

Easter weekend was a busy one! We got to hang out with Big Pappy and the boys, as they flew in from Albuquerque for the weekend! Poor Bryce was sick on Easter morning, but he was feeling better by the afternoon and was even able to eat some of his candy. We had an egg hunt at home in the morning, followed by another at mom's house during Easter brunch. Hope had a third one at Nana and Papa's in the afternoon! Needless to say, there is no lack of sugar in our house! It was not a very "springy" Easter day - cool and rainy most of the day. So, we had to put tights on the girls and throw sweaters over their cute little dresses and do our egg hunts indoors. The kids still had fun and still looked adorable!

We had planned on going to visit the Easter Bunny at the mall during spring break. We finally made it, the day before Hope started back to school. We knew Hope would be excited to get her picture taken with him, and remembering EJs reaction to Santa, we thought she'd be pretty into it too. Not so much. She waved to him while we were in line. She waved to him as we were walking up to him. She waved to him as we were walking away. When he was actually trying to hold her, however, she clung to her sister for dear life. Needless to say, we didn't get a very good picture. Maybe next year . . .

I went to the 6th folder and there were only 3 pictures in it, so I went with the 3rd one. They were some that we had scanned in for a PR lady that has asked for them when Brandon was with the Nationals. I think it's super cute!!
